The holiday resort Ramsau am Dachstein, awarded with the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal, is an Eldorado for walkers. It is located in the midst of the gorgeous mountains of the Styrian Enns valley, at the foot of the striking Dachstein south faces. On the three levels - from the Ramsau plateau to the Alpine pastures and further up to the "roof" of Styria - there is nothing left to be desired. Many of the well signposted walking routes that are part of the entire network counting about 200 kilometres, are set up as rounds. Uniform signposting according to international standards makes it easy to find the right way. Theme trails such as the Bible path or the glacier walk combine impressive natural settings with an informative excursion to history, tradition and culture of the Dachstein region.

In Ramsau, the littlest family members have al least the most fun outdoors, on special, playfully set up children's trails with adequate themes.

On the Ramsau plateau (1.100 to 1.400 metres), there are flat walking trails and easygoing family hiking trails. On the Alpine pastures (1.700 to 1.900 metres), not only traditional mountain shelters and Alpine lodges can be found, but also beautiful walks with impressive views. Ramsau am Dachstein's walking trails are suitable for everyone, no matter what level of ability or fitness!

Ramsau am Dachstein is also starting point of steep tracks and day hikes up to high Alpine terrain. Up in the glacier area you won't miss one of the many spectacular via ferratas or routes up to Styria's highest mountain.
